Good, there's no reason why it shouldn't be one of this country's top priorities. Hopefully, a Kerry administration will go full steam ahead in this area.

Why should my tax money have to fund it? If you support it, you pay for it.

Fine, then you don't get any of the benefits from its discoveries. Plus, I'm not as selfish as you are apparently.

Why shouldn't it? Are you saying there should not have been any federal funding for any type of medical research in the past, now, and in the future?

STEM CELL RESEARCH DOES NOT USED FERTILLZIED EGGS! YOU'RE NOT KILLING ANY BABIES!
Its not controversial anymore, we should absolutely fund stem cell research.

As for Calif and the stemcell issue.....I might move so I don't have to fund it 🙂 ....Great country we live in, it's the state i'm in that sucks....Land of fruits and nuts

Well since we are talking about California your statement about supporting it or not with your tax dollar, seeing that you live in the Frozen Tundra known as Wisconsin, hasn't a point either. Of course that will never stop you from making a personal attack which I don't mind, especially if it's leveled at me, because it gives me the opportunity to say something about your gluttony and pinheadedness😉Originally posted by: Crimson

Hey good one! You should have thrown 'neocon' in there somewhere.. would have made you seem more authoritative...
Yeah, a war and stem cell research are almost the same.. Besides, as stated earlier, this is not FEDERAL funding, this is California funding.. so, if California was being forced alone to pay for the war in Iraq, you might actually have a point.. Unfortunately, like usual, you don't.. 😉

I sure hope it doesn't pass. The problem is going to be that the Democrats have come on the TV saying "We need stem cell research, it will save lives, etc, etc, etc.". So people will just think "Oh, well I like stem cell research, it's good and it can save lives in the future", without realizing THEY ARE ACTUALLY PAYING FOR IT!! While I do believe this, why should I, Joe Taxpayer, have to fund some company's R&D costs?!?!? Don't try to tell me that in turn they will give us all a good deal on the future benefits of this, they'll stick it to us just as hard. I'm on the fence as far as stem cell research goes, but I'm totally AGAINST having to pay for it.
