You might want to look up marginal tax rates in the Nordic countries. Quite frankly you've gone from mentally ill bot to just plain stupid in a mere few pages.

Eh but if you hang around P&N enough you just get sick of it. When a poster never posts anything of substance and instead spends most of his time posting 1 or 2 sentence statements with nothing to back up his claims and then 4 out of 5 times includes an insult, you just get tired of it. Many of us have tried to teach him, but someone must have flipped that little switch in his floppy disc that makes it unable to be written to anymore.

Excuse me? I've never received welfare or any other form of public assistance, and you have no basis for this accusation except for trolling and name calling.
I probably pay more in taxes than your gross income.

I direct your attention to the "constraints on government powers" field, notice how all the Scandinavian countries rank highest in the world. You'd think that's something Incorruptitroll would care about, but hey with all that socialism we must lack basic rights.. no wait at the top again... ok but at least our big governments are so convoluted and secretive we don't know what they're up to...damn it at the top again, must be because we're so corrupt... oh wait, least corruption in the world, hmmm this is getting embarrassing... what about judicial systems... nope again were at the top.

Somewhere in this babble, I'm guessing, is an attack on the '47%'. You do realize that the only people in your country that don't pay any taxes whatsoever would be someone who is dead. There happens to be a few more taxes than income tax.

And, you know what? In all the countries that you mention there are also people who's income is low enough that they pay no income taxes either. And, as in the US, they do end up paying other taxes (i.e. sales taxes).

So, other than bashing on poor people what was your point again?

They have a completely different mentality and a sense of collective identity. They're pretty much ethnically homogenous. Their culture also has a high "rationality factor" (less crime, less corruption, fewer hard drugs, etc.)

As a practical matter, there's not much we could do in the United States to attain that short of somehow magically reprogramming everyone's brains.

The funny thing is that Norway could afford to lower their taxes significantly because of their oil, but instead they invest the money in a pension fund, currently worth $828.9 billion, which is pretty good for the 5.1 million citizens.

If people wanted they welfare state it would be possible, but if a majority of the voters don't want it then it's not going to be implemented.

For me, having a two party system would be really frustrating, compared a multi party system.
