I had lines like that on an 8800gt and I baked it. It was still borked. However experiences may vary. If its busted already might as well try it.

That's not EVGA's fault, and is a poor reason to say you won't buy another one. They are probably the best video card manufacturer out there, and it takes all of five minutes to register. If you had done things correctly, you'd probably be getting a better card back.

It is 100 % EVGA fault. They are the one who are having and practicing and implementing horrific and stingiest policy.
I didn’t knew if I have to register it to take a benefit of the lifetime warranty. I am living the world were I can get benefit with call the manufacture they replace the product. Only time I have to show receipt, when warranty about hovering on the edge of warranty expatriation.
Perhaps I have a world class expectation; cause I may have expose to manufacturer like Kingston, AMD, Intel etc
I had a Kingston memory; It went bad I called them let them know; I gave them my credit card and they freaking FedEx me amd then I send them replacement. Now that is Customer services.
With AMD I just gave them my tracking # of ground shipment they FeDEx me the product. Intel is no different either. They replace the HSF and CPU without a breaking a sweat and FedEx me.
Most Single expensive product was in my computer is EVGA GPU card. I have spend like half a grand on that card; and think I got fastest and badest card; didn't knew I had to register...........
O well lesson learn...... wise....... A Huge learning Curve

I was thinking about going with Readon 5850 with original reference design.
Cause it push hot air out from the case.
What would be most expensive brand with life warrantty. I know I may have to register it.
I am thinking 5850 will be modest video card not too high not too low.
I do not have to stick with ATi I can switch to Nvidia too. However I do want DX 11 card.
Ang sugggestions ?

Fixed that for you.
It's your fault, not theirs.

If you bothered to read any of the documentation when you bought your card you would have known to register your card.

...and before you start spouting anymore bullshit because you fucked up, have you bothered to talk to one of EVGA's CSR's? 90% of the people who forget to register their card are still allowed to RMA if you talk to a CSR.

Did your keyboard break too?

Xfx is the only ATi vendor that has a lifetime warranty as far as I know, and I think it does not require registration at all. Gigabyte has 3 year, which I think is always plenty sufficient, and that definitely does not require registration. I am not sure if nVidia vendors besides eVGA offer lifetime warranties, but once again, there are a number of 3 year ones that are fine.

I have had superb customer service for Kingston HyperX memory before, and very good customer service from ATI (had a made by ATI 9800pro), Intel, and Asus. I think eVGA should do at least 2 years of warranty without registration, but it is their choice and I'm sure you would have known if you read a bit of your documentation.

If they do honner the warrantty " I will soil my pants" and will become their life time customer.

Actually No I didn't speak them till I posted here!
I did speak to them afterword; there is a light grim of chance they look into it.
Suppose to case to case bases!
Yes I didn't read that PDF file; which is in the CD

XFX is the best when it comes to warranty. I was given a old 9800 GTX that was defective. I sent in a request for RMA and told them the situation and they honored it. How in heck can you beat that?

I wouldn't think EVGA would that gold for me.
Let see ..........
Lot of people keep saying it is my fault I didn't register. I think they fail to understand; I didn't knew or I was aware I have to register to get the warrantty (Lifetime)
I always think register = Junk Mail.
If I knew I suppose to register and I didn't that would be different.
Any rate...... lesson learn wise!

Both XFX and eVGA require you to register your product. It's their warranty, it's their policy, and you have to live by it to get your replacements. It's called running a business. It is your fault.

I can personally speak for eVGA's warranty. I've replaced a 7950GT (artifacting and replaced with an 8800GT), two GTX260s (one DOA and one artifacting), and I replaced my eVGA 680i SLI a few times (killing RAM, quad-core revision update, and also returned it because it didn't overclock enough. Yes. They allowed that back then.). I've never had a problem as long as I followed by their rules. Usually a 1-2 day turn around on their end. So a few days to mail it to them, 1-2 days processing, and a few days back. I've paid for their EAR 2-day crossshipping and it was worth it for my motherboard. It's their business. And they're a great company. I hope XFX is similar, since I own 3 of their ATI cards.

No, we know exactly what you're saying. The warranty didn't matter enough to you when you bought it to actually READ about it, and now you expect them to honor the best warranty in the business (which they might anyway) even though you didn't do the one thing that they ask you to do. This attitude really bugs me. You are the one that messed up, not them. Don't go around badmouthing them because you were too lazy to even glance at the warranty information.

XFX has the best warranty for ATi cards. Just be aware that you have to cross your eyes, touch the tip of your nose, and say "XFX" backwards three times to be eligible for it.

You call it what ever, I do not see as a Fault.
For me fault is a responsibility for wrongdoing. I didn't do any thing wrong.
I was just not aware their life time warranty stipulate at the time of purchase.
Yes it was my first EVGA purchase. Regardless ..... Moving foward....
Yes it is their business and their policy. However it is my money and it is matter to me how much policy is a favorable to me. It is my choice to like the policy or not.
I am not questioning how they handly agrement when you do abide by their rules and policy.
It is just I didn't like their rule; cause it is not favarable to me at all. Now if they do bend over their rules for case to case bases; I will be shock to sirprise and they will win me as a life time customer.
Perhaps I may sound like I am jumping the gun and saying EVGA said SOL even though I am register etc etc.... NO I am not.
I am just saying I didn't like their policy~

You need to register with XFX for their double lifetime warranty or it's 1 year I believe.

And I want to add that in today's society no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions and would rather blame someone else. Next thing you know we're sueing everyone that look at us the wrong way. Oh wait, that has already happened.

I can sympathize with you. I didn't read the fine print and register my xfx in time. But you still gotta man up...

Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Did you overclock your card or stress it in any way? I was just wondering if normal wear and tear caused your card to die.
