is london safe?

Tell your "friend" it's better just to save all his earnings, stay in his basement and never leave its safe confines.

It's a very dangerous world out there.

OK FINE IT'S ME

i made the mistake of reading a fiction book about london

turns out the book is all about how many terrorist cells (16000) and al qaeda trainees (3000) live there

so i am kinda of freaking out now 🙁

i still have time to back out though

why not just bump your old thread, though?

If it terrifies you now, imagine how much "fun" you are going to have while there: peeking around every corner and panicking every time you hear a police siren or an encroaching mob of drunken soccer hooligans.

....if there is no way you foresee getting over this discomfort, then I imagine the trip will be rather miserable for you.

that's what i've done so far and it has allowed me to save a lot of money, but i think i might regret it if i live my entire life like that

As with most cities, there are some areas that are a bit dodgy. I lived in London for a few years and never had any problems (even in those areas). I'm not aware of any places in London that a tourist might want to visit *and* are dodgy.

The usual rules apply, watch out for pickpockets.

Or, once you discover that life is actually VERY FUN, and there are all kinds of fun shits you can do with the money you've saved up. You've been preparing for this very moment. The moment you break through that door and say, 'WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I BEEN DOING?'. 😎
