is judge judy a judge or an actress?

My father, an attorney, explained to me that they're not actually judges anymore, just actors that used to be judges. What happens is as soon as they take their case to a real court, the judge will declare that Judge Judy will be handling the case and that her verdict will be offically accepted by the real judge as well, making it official.

i don't think mills lane was ever a judge. they might qualify as binding arbiters

Judge Judy was a judge in family court in NYC.. She was a MAJOR hard ass too (so it's not an act)... In fact, I don't want to get gross here, but she's the ugliest woman that I've ever found attractive.. not like sexually attractive, mind you, but like intellectually.. I'm going to go hang myself now for admitting that..

That's actually what they are.

Their court rooms aren't courts of law, but the decisions made there by the "judge" will be held up in court.

Hurry you must...don't waste precious internet bandwidth. :p I'm sure she's a real smarty pants... but I don't want to be caught with my guard down around her. I'd probably juts get b!tched slapped for looking at her in a wrong way. :(
