WOW, that quote looks fatal for his campaign and if I were a big money guy looking to buy influence I'd be taking my money elsewhere pronto!

Looks like Trump had him pegged dead to right all along!

He is a pussy. Always was, always will be. Its why the establishment wanted him in the first place. Its why they wanted his brother. Its why they wanted Romney, and Gore.

Oh, but he certainly did have a lot of control over it. He just chose to ignore that part of being a hands on governor, because he was way too busy constantly fund raising and other political grandstanding sorts of stuff, and don't you know it.

Meanwhile, the 20 Jihadi nutters didn't even bother to complete their entry paperwork, leaving large portions not filled out. Someone just stamped a passport, ignored the uncompleted entry paperwork, and waved them all right in.

Not to mention, 13 had a Florida drivers license under Governor Jeb, with obviously no background checks to verify anything required to get them, to boot.

That's just sad. State authorities have no jurisdiction over visas & immigration.

There's plenty of reason to criticize Jeb w/o Repub style backbiting & false recriminations.

I didn't say that Jeb did have authority over immigration, so how is that sad?

I merely pointed out the facts of their entry, into Florida, sloppy as it was. And brother Bush certainly was over federal immigration and visas at that time, obviously.

And Jeb did have authority over the drivers license bureau issuing licenses under false pretenses and background information, without a doubt.

Jeb's right about one thing- the state of the Repub party is poisonous, seething with inchoate rage & resentment at the situation their own success has created. Repubs have been radicalizing their base for decades & it's now biting them in the ass. Trump is merely a symptom of that as is the Teahad.

We'll get to see it all unfold in its awful glory over the next several months. Dems are talking about issues & answers. Repubs are busy calling each other pussies & pretending that their faux scandals are more than tearing down the opposition.

I say bring it on. Shut down the govt a few more times over stupid shit that only they care about. Paralyze the govt. Nominate Trump. Offer up transparent flimflams & failed trickledown wrt taxes & fiscal policy. Show America what you're made of, fools. Nearly everybody will be sick of your shit come November.

Yes, Jeb may have realized his party has lost its mind but if a Dem wins the oval office in 16 as it looks like will happen the odds are that the Repubs will be even more insane. The dwindling number of sane Repubs know that if they act sane they will be targeted by the luminaries of the lunatic fringe and replaced and with each election cycle the ratio of same to insane continues to decline.

So, who ever is elected president the odds are that that person will face an even more batshit crazy right with marching orders to obstruct everything.

whose success?

People are seething at somebody's success and it's not the Republicans.

Tens of thousands march in Germany against these shitty trade deals. Why? Because the Germans spent dozens of years protecting their people against them and now the .01% wants to give it all away.

Here, in America, at least one party is waking up to the false bill of goods. The other party is still in love with handouts.

Yes, the average conservative hates them some TPP trade deals, while libruuls and everyday Demoncraps are crawling over broken glass, slathering TPP trade deal fluids all over themselves, because they hate freedom and just want FreeStuff™.

Wasn't until Bernie came out against it that Billery decided to go against it.

You think this is about Liberals or Democrats?

LOL. Just as long as they keep the right frothed up with abortion/samesexmarriage/PP...etc and the left frothed up with gayrights/freeshit, both sides win.

I agree. Jeb should drop it. Done! Nobody in their right mind is having another Bush presidency. Nobody in their right mind should want another Clinton presidency either. We need to get free from career politicians. Unfortunately, there are those, who are addicted to the status quo.

Yeah! What kind of assholes would want the best job market, increasing salaries and reduced debt so much that there is an actual surplus for the following President. Selfish assholes all of them.

You may not like Hillary's style or polished image but don't act like Clintons Presidency sucked.

The Repub party is, was, and always will be the party of the Rich, for the Rich & by the Rich. In looting this country, they've been highly successful.

if their middle class hangers on are just now figuring that out, it just shows what chumps they've been for decades. Now all they need to figure out is that more of the same, of what they want, of harder & deeper isn't the answer.

Shut down the govt over PP? Over Obamacare? Over the debt ceiling? Over any other frenzied desire of hostage taking teatard zealots, a ridiculously small minority? Just do it. Quit posturing & talking shit & do it.

Handouts? How lame. If the jerb creators were half of what they claim to be, we wouldn't need the welfare state at all. If they won't hire us in sufficient numbers & pay us wages sufficient to maintain the welfare of people willing to work then we're well within our rights to take it as taxes & redistribute it through govt programs. The tiniest & wealthiest segment of the population cannot be allowed to hoard at the expense of the rest of us. We're all in this together, something the financial elite will ignore if they can.

But trickle-down, supply-side, Laffer-curve economics will work though!

You see, we have to give rich people all of the money, or they won't give the rest of us jobs. And as of right now, they don't quite have all of the money. Hence the unemployment.

Much like the Cuban Embargo, we just have to give it another 30 or 40 years, and them boom! Presto-chango, full employment!

We'll all just wake up in the gutter, and there will be our glorious overlords, handing out jobs for each of us.

Just continue voting for the American Reactionary party, and shut up. Full employment is right around the corner...

Until then, let's just go ahead and gut the Social Security trust fund and throw that money to criminals on Wall St. to play with. Because Handouts! And FreeStuff™. And Freedom!

Also: Benghazi.

Yeah, thats why no investment bank ever donated to a dem. Or why glass steagall was neutered under a dem. Or how nafta wasnt signed by a dem, or how tpp isnt being signed by a dem, or how MFN wasnt granted to china by a dem.

This is the problem, fucking rubes like you think it is one party selling you down the river. It is both. And both are controlled by effectively the same people. Citizens united and all of that.

No, he didn't say that only the Republican party does it.

But it sure as shit has been doing it longer - the original Republican party was all about finance and industry. And even though the Democratic party gets funded by the same people, it isn't advocating destroying the social safety net so that criminals on Wall St. have a little more money to play with.

BothSidesDoIt™ doesn't apply here.

One side is absolutely atrocious, while the other party is as corrupt and in the pocket as every other major political party on earth.

I know which one needs to be destroyed first - and luckily, the TeaParty zealots are doing it for us.

Truth has no place in Trumpistan where it's hate week every week & misdirected resentment rules the day.

What was the driving force behind the serial deregulation that led to collapse of the ownership society flimflam? Who spearheaded Free! Trade!? Democrats?

Hardly. It was and still is Republicans & their decades old campaign of trickle down Free! Market! idiocy. They're working hard to cripple Dodd-Frank & maintain the lowest tax rates on the rich in the first world, including carried interest provisions for hedge fund managers who Obama recently characterized as society's lottery winners. That was promptly greeted with comparisons to the Nazis, of course, something we've seen before from America's oppressed rich.

http://www.cnbc.com/2015/05/22/hedge-fund-managers-stung-by-class-warfare-rhetoric.html

Trump's answer? Cut taxes at the top, of course, the same trickle down flimflam we've seen for 35 years. Throw up a 20% tariff on imported goods & make empty promises about bringing jobs home. And, of course, kick out illegals so that Americans can downgrade to those jobs.

OTOH, you could listen to more rational voices-

http://prospect.org/article/seven-deadly-sins-deregulation-and-three-necessary-reforms

So long as we allow the rich to prosper at the expense of everybody else they'll have more than enough disposable income to corrupt the system & finance the delusional Teatards, particularly when that can be done in complete anonymity.

So despite the fact that he basically embraces Republican Party orthodoxy on every other issue, his one act of (very modest) ideological heresy makes him no longer fit for the party?

The Republican Party (post 2009) has just three mantras.

- Bomb Muslims
- Don't do anything to help Americans, let people die of bad health, starvation, cold, nutjobs with guns, what the fuck do we care?
- Anyone not following the first 2 or showing empathy for anyone not white is a traitor and not a real Republican
