Hey guys,
Before i came to these forums i knew about distributed computing but thought that SETI was the only one. Then after coming here and being bombarded with a million various DC projects i didn't know what to do with myself. I've done DPAD and now SOB in my time here. What is odd is well...the feeling you get from the race!
I am more than excited that my 1.2ghz tbred system will soon be a 2.8ghz P4 (o/c to about 3.2+ hopefully!) but while i cannot wait for the increased general productivity a major role in my purchase was DC...how odd!
Throughout the time here i've felt the need to assimilate more more more (as engineer puts it). My friend's pcs run DC whenever they leave them on and remember to turn them on, 2 of my personal pcs run it (one is soon to be replaced w. the new system), and i've even flirted with putting it on people's pcs that i fix for free.
to note:
i fix a lot of pcs for people jsut for the heck of it, because i enjoy doing this. as payment i have almost asked them to run a DC client of their choice...so much untapped power...sadly i could never bring myself to such an *outlandish* offer...
just wondering if others have felt the same way...i fear a long life of *more more more* syndrome..lol
