That's the point, I don't know what the law is in every state. 😉 I highly doubt it's legal anywhere, but I wasn't going to go and post that as fact when I don't know it to be a fact. That's all I was getting at.

Definitely against the law. You must get a permit from the city to do any sort of major excavation. You may own your lawn (meaning the grass), but even then, you must keep your grass relatively trimmed or you could be sued by your neighbours for bringing down the value of their homes because of the eye-sore in your front yard. Also the city/state/province owns all of the resource lines under your lawn (gas,electricity,cable,telephone) and if you hit one, you will either die or die from stress for being sued up the ying yang by the government.

No. First, mines are illegal explosives, ordinance, and not protected by the 2nd amendment. Second, regardless of the means, it is illegal to boobytrap your property. Even in Texas. Your right to defend your property does not include the use of any automated potentially deadly force.
