Is it true that people who like NASCAR or WWE are missing a chromosome?

Nascar > soap opera

Even more importantly, those two thing should never be called sports. Even if you can make an argument for neckcar there's no argument to be made at all for wrestling.

While the idiots are bashing Nascar again what do the few people on here that like it think about the new points system?

I hate it!!!!!

They just keep turning Nascar into even more of a joke. The aero-equal crap, restrictor plates, moving track dates around or just getting rid of them, all the cookie cutter tracks, lucky dog, the young guns, and now this. Won't be long before all the people calling it the WWE of racing will be right.

I started watching the truck races near the end last year and they are just much better racing.

Indeed. Nascar now has something akin to a playoff. What a joke indeed... Never mind the fact that a playoff works for.. Every. Other. "Sport". 😕

Seriously, what's dumber than the old points system anyway? Think about it in terms of football; Dallas wins only 3 games in a particular year but they get the Lombardi trophy because they lost their games by the fewest amount of points, led most of their games for most of the time, and allowed the fewest points... Yeah, that would be awesome!

Edit: Also, if you're concerned with the quality of racing why the hell would you watch stock car racing to begin with? IRL, F1, WRC, AMA Superbike, etc are all way more interesting and skilled racing leagues.

Nascar is for guys that like touching other guy's butts.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I like touching other guy's butts.

I just don't like Nascar.

Yep, nothing is more manly than driving in a circle and playing pretend by putting your head in other guys' crotches while wearing capes and makeup.

Besides, if someone doesn't have an X chomosome, they'd be in trouble.

The problem with the new points system is it is the same points system except now after 26 races the top ten are reset and start over with the #1 5 points over 2nd and 2nd 5 points over 3rd and so on. So now if the guy #1 in points has a 1000 point lead over the guy in 10th after the 26th race that is dropped to 50 points. Now you can very well have a guy that just half assed his way into the 10th spot run really well during the last 10 races and win the champion ship. Thats just screwed up. The other cars not in the top 10 after 26 races can finish no higher than 11th and are just out there getting in the way. The only other thing they changed was to give the winner 5 more points but that really doesn't do jack. The fan polls are around 70-80% against this but Na$car wants to up their ratings in the fall when Football starts stealing some of them. They think this will help. They should have changed the points system to something more like the IRL.

IRL doesn't do anything for me. Seeing the same guy win every race in F1 doesn't = good racing. WRC is cool but racing against the clock just isn't as good as other cars to me. I will set and watch AMA but I don't really follow it. Those guys are crazy 🙂.

Oh and what other motor sport uses a playoff system? It works great for stick and ball sports but Nascar isn't Football.

Well looks like they are about to put the final nail in the coffin
"Expect to see a common-template engine from NASCAR before the end of this season, Hendrick Motorsports head engineer Randy Dorton says. Plans that could lead to common engines in Nextel Cup for 2005 are being discussed. . ."
Great now every single part of the cars will be the same unless they have one for each maker.

Nascar is otw to pulling a CART/IRL and splitting.

opps forgot the link
