Is it true all the eggs you buy in the states are white/bleached white?

the bleach/peroxide comments are pretty funny

i didn't grow up on a farm, but i was surrounded by them. nice to see we got some country boys here. :)

White eggs make better easter eggs. I guess that's about the only advantage.

We get almost all our food from farmers' markets, so all our eggs are brown too. Even then you get some that are white, but it's not the pretty white you see in the supermarket.

The egg producers might very well be using a peroxide rinse to sanitize the eggs (not to change brown eggs to white).

Yeah, didn't you know the egg trees the stores use only grow white eggs while farmers prefer the vine grown brown eggs.
