I think it's time for the recycling people to figure out a way to clean things before recycling. Think of all the water we waste washing things individually (most recycling programs want clean items) before it goes into the recycling bin. I remember the days of only paper bags at Kroger's..... it was a pain in the rear to unload the car because it was so many more trips.

they require clean stuff because its a huge health hazzard not to mention all the vermin it would attract.

You know what though ? I use those grocery plastic bags as garbage bags for my regular trash. So I don't think I'm "wasting" anything... I would be buying actual garbage bags which is a waste of money IMO. The two of us in this house don't produce enough trash for a day to warrant those huge trash bags. Plastic bags from groceries are perfect.
