this is what happened to me today. My 3 years old nephew locked himself in a room. I broke in the room and spanked* him. he has been more obedient ever since. He just asked me for permission to turn on the tv. hah!

what I found is it is much easier to teach him, when he is scared of me. this is when I like about Machiavelli

*update*
At the dinner, I told my brother-in-law (which is his father) about I was spanking him for locking himself in the room. he was stunted when he heard I said I spanked him, then he heard the reason and he told me I did the right thing. so I don't think that was wrong, even the father said I was right.

Fear of pain and suffering is an awesome deterrent......but if the liberals find out they will have you thrown in jail since they seem to truly desire societal entropy.

You beat him? Like made a fist and punched him? Or gave him a spanking? There's a big difference, but nevertheless, I'd be pissed if my sibling spanked my kid.

I really don't think a three year old needs a beating. A spanking, yes, a beating, especially with a stick, no.

But, I think a beating is what a lot of older (15-18yrs) juvenile delinquents need.

Holy crap, I'd be scared to hell if someone beat me with a stick if I was 3 years old.

WTF is the matter with you? How would you like it if I came and beat your ass down with a stick

Your nephews parents are okay with the fact that you beat their son? :|:|:|:| Personally I have never been "beat" by my parents, slapped yes, but never "beat" with a belt or fists or anything of that nature. And I would never want to "beat" my children because they turned the TV on without my permission. Hopefully he doesnt grow up and "beat" his wife when she questions your nephew wether or not it was necessary to spend $500 on a Geforce XIV.

No! Of course it's not right. What the heck is wrong with you? Hopefully this is just a ploy to get attention from all of us rather than the truth.

Beat him or spank him?

beat him with a stick

What degree of beating are we talking about? The kind that leaves bruises and broken bones?

no bruise, no broken bones. hurt enough to give him a message not to do it again. his mom, which is my sister is working and leave him and my niece (2years) old at home. my mom is tired of his naughty behavior. he is obeying now.

Using a high voltage cattle prod will give even better results. Also make sure you video tape the next beating you give the kid.

*me thinks someone is going to jail very soon*

Using a stick is a little bit to the extreme.
When I use a very angry tone to teach my 2 year old nephew,
he usually listens. You are not his parents,
physically teaching him is a bit wrong.

Spanking kids is all right, in my book. I was spanked when I was younger; not too often and when it did happen I knew I had really done something out of line. I was never bruised or anything, but a few sharp whacks on the ass and I stopped doing what I had been doing.

Making someone AFRAID of you, however, is a whole different story. Any child can be beaten into submission, but you're going to do a lot of harm along the way. And beating them with a stick is just unacceptable, as is beating a child that is not yours. You don't have the right.

Then you obviously have never been a parent.....some kids push the limit no matter how you approach them and a good spanking is sometimes mecessary to get the message across.

How is this person beating a three year old kid a liberal\conservative political issue?

"my mom is tired of his naughty behavior. he is obeying now."

Sounds like your mom didn't raise her daughter any better than her grandson, or the grandson wouldn't be there in the first place all the time.
