When I was in the service I saw a friend (that I had never seen take a drink before) put away a fifth of capt morgan in less than 45 minutes. I guess saint patties day is a big deal to some people.

I had to help him to his bed and put a garbage can next to him. He asked me why then passed out. The next day he thanked me for the can.

I never saw him drink again.

Yeah. I hope people are taking the warnings seriously. That is enough to kill you and it has done so plenty of times.

Of course it is.

Are you wondering if one can actually survive such a thing?

To answer your question, some German dude did this last year at an airport when he was refused at security for carrying a bottle of vodka through. Rather than throw it away, he cracked it open and downed it on the spot...to "prove a point."

Well, he died shortly after.

You'd die either way, so why die thirsty?

it's possible, you should throw it back up though that much alcohol in your system can be fatal

You can do it no problem. You might die afterwards if you don't puke it up later. But yeah, you can do it.

Drinking a 750 in one sitting would probably kill you. I know someone who did it over the course of a night, though. And it was Fleischmann's.

I chugged a 750ml bottle of Jägermeister when I was younger and stupid, and kept it down without issue. So it is definitely possible. Stupid, but possible.

I bought a bottle of Maker's one New Years Eve a couple years ago and ended up drinking about 80% of it over a period of 4-5 hours. I was very drunk but I didn't get sick.

Yeah, no rational forward thought-process is involved in it though. If he said that he puked it out 30 seconds later I'd be more apt to believe him. Keeping down that much liquor would be hazardous.

On three separate occasions in college I split half a handle (1.5 liter) of bacardi (twice) and vodka (once) with another person. While we did mix it with coke/juice/etc. and drank it over a period of a few hours, I'd still puke it out eiher that night or the next day and experience all-day drunkeness and hangovers. Maybe that's why I now cringe when I get offered bacardi & cokes and can't drink them anymore.
