I know someone who works at a game store but he is hardly into computers. He never logs on or plays online games and just has a regular Dell anyone can preorder just to suit his regular computing needs. Is there such a thing as a console-only lover ?

Strangely, yes.

I don't really see how though. Even some developers here aren't into computers. It amazes me.

There is nothing wrong w/ playing console games but not being into PC games. I just hate console people who wont acknowledge that mouse and keyboard are the best controls for an FPS.

The only PC games in Japan are porn games. So there's atleast a whole country full of console lovers.

I don't really give a flying fvck about computers, but I love FPS games. The only reason I came here was for tech help when building my first PC a few years back. I've lost touch with the latest and greatest hardware. Couldn't even tell you what the top-of-the-line video cards are called.

Well I'm not even talking about PC games... I'm just talking about PCs.. I just thought that if you were into gaming, the computer as an entertainment mechanism would be a logical partner-in-crime.

i think a lot of people don't like the hassle of requirements/bugs on computer games. i prefer sitting in the lazyboy with a controller in my hands and playing something on the big screen. now that there is great online play with xbox, i hardly play games on my pc at all.

im kind of similar, in that i hate playing games on the computer and would much rather play a console game. in fact, the only game i play on the computer is original ut, and when the public server's for it start to die, ill probably quit computer games forever. just doesnt appeal to me.

Well there are those who play only sports games and barely know how to turn on a computer, much less game on one. But I'd hardly call those people "gamers."

Console only gamers =/

EDIT: There are people really into consoles, but wouldn't have a clue how to build or fix a computer.

Yep, even putting a CD/DVD in a drive is pushing the tech knowledge limits of most people. Going further than that... "here there be dragons" No reason for anyone with a PC to own a console imo.

Why? Because someone writes software does not mean they need to get excited about a $400 video card... especially if the software they're writing doesn't do 3d graphics.

haven't played a game on the computer for almost more than a year and that was the newer Civ game. Other than that I would rather console it up.
