I love consoles but really i'm not into computers that much. I mean, i make upgrades to some things, just so i can play one or two of the games i have, but other than that, it's used for music and online.

Strangely, yes.

I don't really see how though. Even some developers here aren't into computers. It amazes me.

Why? Because someone writes software does not mean they need to get excited about a $400 video card... especially if the software they're writing doesn't do 3d graphics.

If you're interested in one area of PCs you generally attain knowledge of other areas without even trying, it's some strange sort of osmosis. Won't be as knowledgeable as if you actively seek out knowledge about said areas, but moreso than most people. For instance, any ATOT IE users here who haven't heard of Firefox?

My computer costs almost as much as my college tuition but I don't know jack except get better and cheaper and put them in the right slots
However, when I touch a PS2 or an arcade with Tekken 4 on it, I become God.

To your question I say yes because I'm into gaming and I don't know jack about computers.

My girlfriend is like that. Can play PS2 all day but only occassionally busts out worldwinner.com on her PC and hates any kind of non-puzzle game.

I didn't say the developers weren't into computer games. I said they weren't into computers. In other words, they know nothing about computers, except howto use photoshop or .net

Anything past that is beyond them.

I used to be a big console gamer, but I grew kinda tired of it. I still play console games, and I buy the good RPGs (even though I never find the time to play them), but I prefer gaming on my computer.

i always wanted to play the new games, so i started reading here and pc mags to learn about parts to build my own pc that will play games.

when i started posting here, i had a p200mhz and 32 mb of ram, and didnt even know l33t meant. now i have a p4 monster rig and i fix/build/repair other peoples pc's monthly sometimes weekly.

gaming got me into computer and i even worked last year at a pc store repairing them

I always laugh when I read comments like this. Your friend hates these things why? Because it's somehow cool to hate large monopolistic corporations even though they make decent products that people want and do things to help the community?
