I generally drink at least 4 red bull a day.. lately it's been 5 or 6+. (it gets $$$$$$)

today I decided to not drink any red bull.

First off, I cannot concentrate on sh!t. I have a horrible headache, and generally feel unmotivated.

I broke down and bought a barq's root beer.

Bleh.

Of course it is.

And yes, caffeine withdrawl usually involves a headache.

The Barqs isn't going to do much, they only have ~25mg of caffeine. :(

Yes, it's addictive. Withdrawel causes side effects like headache or fatigue. My suggestion would be to cut down slowly.

This hit me about an hour ago. A crazy headache and generally laziness. I seriously thought about just leaving work and sleeping..

If I don't have caffeine by about 3pm, I start getting headaches and generally can't concentrate all that well. They aren't quite migraines, but they're about as bad as any that I get. I also wonder if there's something specific in Mountain Dew that's addictive b/c if I go all day without any, but have caffeine through coffee or Coke or what have you, I notice that my concentration/general mood is worse than normal. I typically have 2-3 Dews per day, sometimes more, sometimes less on weekends.

I can't imagine surviving 4-6 Red Bulls per day, tho, but I can see why you'd have a crushing headache if you went cold turkey, heh.

LOL..

A redbull only contains 80mg of caffeine.

I have seen people get octuple shots at Starbucks.

That's good for at least 480mg, probably more. Maybe significantly.

None of these people know what they're talking about. Of course you can't get addicted to caffeine. Caffeine is your friend. Friends don't hurt friends.

Now go drink up.

It's well known that withdrawal from caffeine can give headaches. I generally use that as indication taht I've been consuming too much. Stop with that redbull crap. Go with Monster. Twice the size, same price.

You can get addicted to anything containing alkaloids.
Coffee, tea, cigarettes (nicotine), coke (caffeine)...

5-6 Red Bulls daily? Wow. Try lowering your dose step by step.

Duhhhhh, really??? LOL
Caffeine and Nicotine are two of the most addicitve substances on the planet. Caffeine was added to Coca Cola after the feds made them remove the coca alkaloids that gave it the "lift" that people were used to.
Pure nicotine is a virulent poison.

For the true addict

1 lb is only $154.95!

Apparently it can be snorted & smoked along with the normal methods of consumption.

A little too extreme for me, but I've thought about getting some to avoid soft drinks.

Problem is you have to buy like 1/2 lb + for it to be cheaper than NoDoze.

Yes it is addictive. NYTimes had an article on this actually in the magazine about 2 weeks ago. This guy went to a doctor, and they couldn't figure out why he had addiction withdrawl symptoms, until they figured out he had a lot of coffee everyday.

caffine is adictive in that if you stop consuming it, your body will experience physical side-effects (headaches being the most common one).

during college, I got addicted to it. Fall semester of junior year, I had 8 am classes every day. Every morning as I was walking out of my dorm hall, I'd stop by the vending machine and grab a bottle of code red or mountain dew. 3/4 of the way through the semester, after doing this every Monday - Friday (coffee on the weekends, since I had time to eat breakfast if I wasn't hung over), my honors bio teacher pointed out that I'd be getting more energy by grabbing a bottle of OJ instead. I tried it one morning, and by 10 am, I had migrane headaches that immediately went away after I drunk a glass of pepsi with lunch.
