If you don't care, why do you have to respond to everything I say?

It's "3 million sold with a significant design flaw". Enough of a problem for Apple to call an emergency press conference over. The only way Apple can redeem itself in any way is to release an iFix for the iPhone. That means a complete recall of the handsets.

I think you're confused, as already said in this thread nobodies returning their iPhone 4's. And they're still selling like hot cakes. Apple didn't have to do this, even without this press conference by years end this by far would have been the biggest selling phone of the year. I have 4 friends with them, I asked them all, and not a single one's going to return them, because not a single one's having it dropping calls on them. Apple's on pace to set records with this phone and you're speaking like they need to redeem themselves? Please show me polls of iPhone owners who are unhappy with their handsets. You can't, because they don't exist.

I have had my iphone4 for a week now and have not experienced 1 dropped call. And it is true about the antenna, I have a blackberry curve and when i hold it the same way i lose reception. People are making more out of this then it really is. I do like I will be getting a free case tho.

0.55% of iPhone 4 users have contacted Apple tech support regarding reception issues.

I wonder how many Nexus One users called Google about reception issues in the first 20 days it was on the market..............oh wait, thats right, Google didn't even offer tech support other than Google search.

Nearly anyone who owns an iPhone for a considerable amount of time and tries to go to an Android device is like "WTF is this shit?"

There's just a general lack of polish on Android where the iPhone is "the complete package." With Android you get a shoddy UI, worse apps and games than the iPhone, no complete music strategy (iTunes Music Store), in fact a terrible media interface, hodgepodge software (EVO's answer to Facetime sucks, for instance), etc.

I did exactly that, and I'm quite pleased with my droid.

i don't care if the iphone is better then druid or whatever.

Apple did the best thing in giving away FREE bumbers. it will save the company millions and make it look as if they are doing something to fix it.

my only issue with it was how jobs went about it. he came out blaming others and trying to throw dirt on everyone. If he came out and said "yeah we fucked up and this is how we are going to fix it" from the start i don't think think the backlash would be as harsh.

the bumper is a good start. ALL new phones need to come with the coating that would have prevented this. yeah so the phone may not look as shiny and cool. get over it.

I disagree.
The way the media is portraying the issue is that this is an iPhone 4 only problem which is clearly not the case.

Like has been said before, iPhone users are used to basic functions not on being in the phone. Also they're used to AT&T's service so either way, they think nothing has changed which is why you're not seeing many returns.

wow amount of apple lunatics even here is crazy... it is like reasoning with religious nuts about whether there's God... you can't argue using reason with them, neither you can with these here, because "Apple is just better"

Sprint is better than Verizon.

I have 5 lines, 3 on AT&T, 1 on Verizon and 1 on Sprint. I now pay for two of them as most eventually migrated to family members. One iPhone 3GS and one iPhone 3G.

I use my Sprint Blackberry phone for work and my Droid is my personal phone.

So far in my experience of carrying two phones around, Sprint > Verizon in coverage around MA area.

The MA area is very small and densely populated. I don't think that's really even close to fair representation of the whole country.

I don't think that's quite the situation. There are those people, but I don't think this thread has reached that level. Mac vs PC threads can get that way, but I don't see these threads getting that far.

You should take your own advice. The apple hatred is actually more religious in nature than anything else. Don't bring reason into this, those hating on the phone ignore the simple fact that most iphone users are quite happy with their phones.

Only a fool thinks this. It sells as many as all 60 androids combined. It last 8 full hours talking non stop, twice as long as competitors. It's front glass won't scratch made of gorilla glass. It has 300,000 applications three times as many as a phones with 60 times as many models.

11 million this quarter, easy which is 3 million more than last.

I'll admit it does have problems - not water proof, can't throw it against the wall like a baseball, and only gives me an organism half the time I look at it but no phone is close.

You better hope Apple does not open phone on other carriers and CDMA then - you'll be like a Christian in Mecca on pilgrimage. 1:100,000

Hmm I never thought of that - Apple hatred being a religion of it's own. There are some hardcore Apple fanboys out there, but I've met some even worse Apple haters. I'm curious why people get so uptight about it - if you don't like it, why keep beating it into your head over and over again? They go out of their way to let it get under their skin. Kind of funny.

Take the commercials - they're kind of funny, poking fun at Windows and the associated stability problems. But Apple haters drone on and on about how stupid they are, how uncool they are, yada yada yada. Why even worry about it? I'm starting to think Apple haters are masochist lol.

Those fucking advertisements for Mac vs PC can be some serious bullshit sometimes. >.> It's about false advertising to an extent.

Okay...so there's a million PC commercials and just one Apple company. I don't see why people get so resentful about it. If you don't like it, why talk about it? These Apple haters just can't seem to let things go...I don't like eating baloney, so I don't eat baloney...why would I walk around telling everyone how nasty baloney is? :awe:

Why would people who love baloney try to shove it down others throats if they don't like it or are indifferent?

What's funny is I hate apple PC's...have posts to prove it like when I got the wife a imac or macbookpro and bitched about twice as much for 1/4 function, or LOLing @ their proprietary 3x as much mp3 players, sansa for me K, anyway nothing touches thier phone. Everyone knows this.
