Is it okay to post nice deals from eBay auctions?

Every day I browse ebay just looking for deals, you know. Most of the time I have no money to go about purchasing anything but many times I will come across some fantastic deals from sellers who just start an auction with a low Buy-It-Now price. I don't plan on posting any of my auctions (I don't sell on eBay anyways) but I want to let other people know about these deals. Is that alright?
 
I, also, would really like to hear about low "Buy it Now" prices.

Seriously, feel free to PM or email me with any of those.
 
What's the point of posting a good price on something if there is only one of them. It's going to end up with a lot of disapointed people. At least mark it as a auction and lock the thread after it has been sold.
 
I have an idea. Let's turn this site into a post a moronic Hot Deal site.

Then next January we could have a moronic deal of the year and a moronic deal of the year poster who is the most voluminous poster.

I have a better idea, let's just crap on someone who hardly ever / never posts in Hot Deals so that no one else will want to post here. Keep those newbies away, they NEVER have anything good to offer. Infact, let's just limit new threads to posters above 10,000. Then we'd never have to worry about newbies again.

While he should have read the rules, at least he was nice enough to ask first.

IMHO, this forum is for questions, be they the wrong ones sometimes.
It's a great place to learn. I don't care much for forum police.
 
eBay only had good deals when it was new. Resellers have completely flooded out all the deals with high shipping costs and an overwhelming amount of crap.

I agree, but sometimes the seller has multiple items. For example, someone has a ton of Dell 8300 Barbones including the case, psu, mobo, hs/fan for $130, not bad for someone who wouldn't mind some Dell non standard parts and needs something quiet. The mobo is good, Intel-made, 875P chipset, 8x agp.

How many times have Hot Deals from other sites been posted with no or little product in stock, leaving a lot of disappointed people? Although, I'd hate to see people posting their OWN auctions. 🙂
 
IMO it should be allowed to post a hot deal from an ebay seller that has multiple BIN items and has plenty of good feedback. For instance, a few weeks back I bought a 3 watt Luxeon-based torch for under $20 shipped from Hong Kong. These things go for over $50 elsewhere, sometimes $70+. I bought the item at a great price, it arrived quickly, I am very happy with it, and the seller has a ton more of them at the same price. Why shouldn't other people gain from my experience?

The big problems come when every ebay seller out there starts pimping his gear on the deals forums. I'm not sure how you would guard against that other than have a forum dedicated to ebay deals and allow peope to post unrestricted. It would either work or would die a quick death.
 
I agree that eBay deals that consist of large quantities of available product and that are "buy it now" constitute valid deals. I just bought a 19" CRT monitor that fits these criteria & I'd love to post it, but if such posts are forbidden...

Why doesn't someone start a forum where people can post some killer ebay deals? Granted you're going to have a lot of abuse with people posting their own auctions...prolly gonna need a legion of moderators.

I've found a handful of sweet deals on Ebay from people posting low Buy It Now prices, but just didn't have the money for the items at the time. Almost pains me to see the item go to someone I don't know 😛

whats funny is, sometimes i see people bidding more on items on ebay that they could get CHEAPER at retail.

I think it is a bad idea; it would be easy for persons to abuse. Plus once you allow someone to post eBay links for any reason it would open the door for others to post links as well. This forum could easily be overrun with eBay postings for BIN auctions.
