is it normal to be referred by your last name at work?

Happens to me at work and outside of work. It's not a big deal. They don't say it to be mean. It's just what everyone calls me.
 
haha id be pissed. sort of..well not really.
friends call me by my last name.
i could see a hardass boss doing it..its all in the context.
 
Depends on the job/place, I get that all day long, usually with 'officer' in front of it which makes me look around for the person they are talking to lol. But you should feel lucky she knows who you are 🙂
 
My first name is Matt, which is really common, so I've been called by my last name quite a lot.
 
Happens to me a lot since my first name, Michael, is so common. I've also come to realize over the years that people who will only call me by my last name generally aren't people I should consider friends. That theory has proven true many times.
