Is it me...

I've had service with them since august of last year and I don't think I've gone an entire month wtihout at least some problem or outage of some sort. Don't get me wrong, when it works, it works fast, but part of the "Always-On" aspect of a cable modem service that they advertise as "always-on" is that the service should always be on. DSL was NEVER this bad in my area, they were consistently more reliable.

And another thing, their tech support sucks arse too, all they wanna do is send out a tech, even if they've done so like 5 times already and the tech can't find anything wrong on your end. And they NEVER EVER admit to any problems.

EDIT: and before all you people ask why I don't just discontinue my service with them and switch, it's because currently I live too far to get DSL, but only have cable as my high speed option.

need a "meh" option

I considered it and then decided comcast doesn't deserve the "meh" option. I had to struggle just to put the "no way, they're excellent" option in there.

My only complaint with Comcast is they cost too much. My speed of 3mb is the same that dsl offers for $29. I really should switch, but I'm lazy.

My service is rock solid. It's way too $$$ for what you get and they need to offer unlimited news groups. We've got Verizon FIOS buried in our yard so it shouldn't be much longer until the day I can dump Comcast.

My Comcrap internet runs great 99.9% of the time. Its a bit expensive especially since they really bend you over if you're not a TV subscriber.

i actually took a careful look on how it fluctuated over a day when i was totally noturnal early this week.
in total, there were 8 resets and at 12:00am-2:00am, 3:00pm-4:00pm respectively had some major spikage when it was literally slower than dial-up for a sustained period of time. that added with my long-term observation of past month or so, it gets really slow when kids come home from school (around 4:00pm or so), only reasonably fast at around 8:00am-10:00am when everyone is either sleeping or gone to work/school. to think i am paying $42.75+tax for this BS service... anything could be better, i am currently looking into my other options.

If Comcast is the worst, the best must be absolutely incredible...

Granted, they've had some problems lately.. But I've had them for like 4 years now, with very rarely ever a problem.

Lately Concast has really sucked. I mean really bad. They've had DNS outages all over, and the problems are still abundant even when they say their fixed. I really need to figure out how to change my DNS servers, I'm sure its really easy I just haven't bothered with it. BTW, which is the best DNS server?

Comcast has been flawless for me for the last 3 years.. of late there have been a spate of DNS server issues, but I've added static DNS servers since the last time things got flaky and its been great since. As for tech support - don't call them and you'll never have a problem 🙂

DSL is MUCH slower and you should make sure your not really far away from the provider.

Great for me. Even the recent outages I've been hearing about haven't affected my connection.
