That makes sense, it must replicate to specific server farms when it's popular in an given area.edit: meh, I can't find what I read before. Something about their complex delivery and a video not being available on a 'local' server...but who the shit knows. I certainly wouldn't think it's on my end since slow videos stay slow and fast videos stay fast.
Youtube sucks balls now. I had an account, then they started forcing people to sign in with their gmail accounts... whatever I created a gmail account.
Now they want you to sign up for some bullcrap to get in, so I just gave up and don't bother signing in anymore at all.
I blame people that try watching every video as 1080p when a bit lower quality would work just as well in most cases.![]()

Srsly, it sucks now. Takes like 30 seconds to load any video on my Nexus 7. Even the ads lag.
Is there a way to block ads from a smartphone or tablet? I haven't seen a YouTube ad on my computer in years but my phone is a different matter.
Oh and it doesn't work well on my phone either. I have to turn off HD/HQ just to be able to watch something.
Get a video downloader addon. I DL it if it has to buffer.
Yikes. Mine's been too slow to play some videos real-time, sometimes, but I can usually DL them at 300+KB/s, even then!

What I hate is how I have a gmail account for my regular email, but I like to use a different email for my youtube account. So every time I sign into one, it signs me out of the other.
I dunno YT has been progressive faster for me since like 2008. Even obscure 20K+ view vids loads perfectly fine at 1080p now.
I think most of the big time online shows have moved over to Blip. Doug Walker and Channel Awesome were some of the first to ditch YouTube due to their rather lax policies on protecting fair use. They never check to see if a DMCA takedown is legitimate.
When it's 2am central time here it's 8am or later in Europe and Africa. I wonder if it slows down here when the people over there are watching videos.
