Is it just me or is Archer REALLY unfunny this season?

I feel like last season was...meh...but this season has just been terrible, it's like they're recycling the same jokes, and making in-jokes about previous stuff that would only be funny to the actual characters in the show...except it's a cartoon..anyone else notice this?

bummer.. I haven't caught the new season yet. I could imagine that happening though the humor of the show isn't really varied and can't go in a lot of directions because the characters are all very shallow

Yes and no... the comedy is the same as it's always been, it has its moments and the pace makes some situations funny, but a lot of the time it's just meh. The first season was like this too but a little more funnier.

The episode where Archer lost his memory and was living as Bob from Bob's Burgers was hilarious. The rest were just "OK".

we definitely differ on that...I hated that episode, mainly because I think bob's burgers is one of the worst shows to ever air.

😵

It was just the utter ridiculousness and randomness that he hooked up with a family that looked like Bob's Burgers. The thing that jostled his memory was Lana's "boobs flopping around". The coaster pasties are great too 😀

Sadly, a lot of truth here. The characters were evolving and getting more outrageous in seasons past. Now they're just the same outrageous and so it's more meh.

I've still gotten laughs as long as I'm careful to be very non-sober while watching.

I think this season is hilarious so far.
I've loved every season.

Sure, some episodes or jokes might not be as funny as others but that life...not everyone will find everything funny.

I still think its the best show on TV. Sure the characters are getting more outrageous, but seeing what kind of shit they keep pulling is goddamn hilarious.

I'm enjoying this season so far as well (althought Lana getting it on with Cyril is a stretch). Nothing more subjective than humor.

I haven't seen any of this season yet, but considering how awesome the first 3 seasons were I don't see how it could be bad.

I wasn't a big fan of the Valentine's Day episode or the snakebite episode, but apart from that, they've been vintage Archer (ie, hilarious).

Wut? You didn't find the quasi-cooking show one funny? I figured you'd appreciate that one lol.

The one where the snake bites Archer in the taint and he tells Cyril "Cyril, I need you to suck the venom from my taint" was LOL worthy!

The episode with Archer's buddy who turned out to be gay was meh, but I enjoyed it because the buddy was voiced by Timothy Olyphant, who is my favorite TV actor right now. Also anyone noticed that some of the guest star voices are just people from other FX/Fox Shows? Obviously the Bob's burger one, but the one of the Border Patrol guys was voiced by the guy who plays Art on the show Justified. The guy who plays Merle on The Walking Dead voiced the Sheriff when Archer, Ray, and Carol, I mean Cheryl, visit West Virginia. (LOL I spelled Virginia wrong and IE spell check suggested Virginal as the best match).

I also like that Jessica Walter's IRL husband does Ron Cadillac's voice.

I agree as a whole this season isn't as good, but it is still funny IMO.

Also:

That trash has never been funny.

Your name suits you.

I have to disagree with you. The banter between Archer and Ray was great, with the snakebite thing and his penis, and the fact that friday, dog, bread were all the same word.

As for valentines day, seeing Barry going more and more crazy and somehow managing to work with krieger was great.

They each had funny moments. In the Valentine's Day one, when Barry is asked how the scientists died and responds, "Oh... different ways," and when Archer sprints down the hall to Katya's door only to go sliding right past and crash into some unseen furniture had me in stitches. And the snakebite episode had some good banter as well, plus Cyril's drawing of the snake that gets him handed some bread with olives stuck to it. But both episodes had segments that just dragged (the dream sequences especially), and some jokes that fell flat. They weren't as rewatchable as previous episodes have been.
