Is it irritating to you that web devs still forget about Firefox?

And that pages still shows up with messed up formats and layouts in Firefox? I mean, don't they check their stuff before publishing it?

I can't think of any that I encounter any more, so no.

My only issue is that NoScript just plain breaks websites. Even if I allow all scripts on the page, some just don't function correctly (the site works fine if I disable NoScript though). In that case I'll open it in Chrome. Interestingly I've had more memory issues with Chrome, and also AdBlock doesn't work as well with it.

I used to use Firefox exclusively. Since they went into constantly-update-and-break-all-plug-ins mode, I completely stopped using it.

As many tabs as I use, I really need Chrome's separate processes anyway. Has Chrome finally implemented separate processes per tab?

99.9% of websites (at least that I use) work fine in Firefox. There are few that do not render 100% perfect and they may work better on a rectangular monitor. I currently have a 17 inch Sony CRT from Dell. As to the comment about update and break all plug ins, this issue was done away with beginning with Firefox 9. You only answer a couple of items on first install and all is well from then on. Give the latest Firefox 9.0.1 a try.

In fact FF is the most forgiving browser, I dont think its possible to build a website that is messed up in FF and works on other browsers. Unless you have old version of FF 4 or below or the website is really old. If ts being build today with the fairly recent technology, it will work on FF

my 2 cents

No, not really. I find that most web devs now test their stuff in Firefox, but not IE. IE 6, 7, 8, and compatibility modes all see to render differently and they always seem to really botch up the design in at least one of those.

Don't you mean 10.0? 😛

This update shit has gone beyond ridiculous, but I still use FF.

No, the addons issue was resolved in Firefox 9 ... I recall when I installed it, it asked a few questions and all the addons were working fine.

I find it retarded that all government shit was created to use ONLY IE. Like. I already have FF open. I really have to go open IE just for this shit?

I'm a web developer / programmer, and I use Firefox as my main browser (due to Firebug and FireFTP, mostly). I then test in IE9, IE8, and whatever the latest version of Chrome is afterward.

For very thorough testing, I throw in IE7, Safari, and occasionally others. We used to take care to always include any browser / version that had a large following, but we've recently stopped supporting old / obsolete browsers. If you're still using IE6, Firefox 1/2, etc., sorry, you're SOL. It might seem a bit callous or perhaps even stupid, but it's the only way we're going to make progress. Coding websites for IE6 is a nightmare. Even IE7/8 are still a PITA.

I was responding to "Give the latest Firefox 9.0.1 a try" when I mentioned 10.0.

Untrue.
I spent a few months installing Macs in Chicago Public Schools. That was fun times.

How long ago was that?

Are you forgetting about the past 10 - 15 years that have been dominated by microsoft products? In the 1990s, there was nothing but microsoft in the college I went to.
