Sharkbite sells a water heater connector that comes with a matching purse.

Biggest problem can be getting the old one out. I had a 40gal that was so full of crap it took two of us to get it out with a hand truck.

Yeah it was a disaster when I replaced mine. It has so much sediment in it that the water wouldn't drain out of it. So I had to load a completely full 50 gallon water heater onto a hand truck and try to wheel it out of my house.

Once I finally got it out I just yanked the elements out of it and let the water come gushing out.

We spent new years in Vegas at a buddy's house. His hot water heater started leaking our last night there. Took 2 PhDs, 3 MS, and 1 bachelor's degree 3 hours to replace the hot water heater. If we had just hired one of the guys outside Home Depot to do it, it would have been 15 minutes.

experience makes a difference, but a bunch of numbskulls with little hands on skills were able to do it, so you can too!

The three dudes with multiple sclerosis were probably not doing a whole lot to help your time.

Next time... Hanger / copper wire up the drain spout generally works. So does a baseball bat to the tank sides to shake it up.

When I was flushing mine, I found it also helped to turn the inlet valve on and off to help 'stir' it and put some extra force behind the crap I was trying to shove out.

Is it hard to flush a water heater? I tried to flush mine but the water heater wouldn't fit in the toilet.
