There is no 'DOS' in XP. If you need to flash, use a Win95/98 bootdisk or download one here.

WinXP doesn't have a DOS Prompt, and a Command Prompt is not the same as a DOS Prompt.

You need a Win9x boot disk to get to MSDOS....grab one from www.bootdisk.com.

Win98 SE boot disk

Run "Win98se.exe" with a formatted floppy in the drive. It will create a full Win98 boot-disk.

and got the I/O disk error
