Well, I truly appreciate the comments shared, I wrote some notes and ideas to share in class. Mani did have thorough points. Many people here think that because a minority can more easily get a position or get into a school because of their race, they have equal treatment / privilege / advantage for all aspects of their life. When you get back to the basic premise of the question...the fundamental question of whether or not it's better to be born white or black, the answer is white. (I'm white by the way)

I'd just like to know what's white and what's black and how do you make the determinations? Is it our nature to spend minutes on end staring at someone tring to figure this out? I can't tell race in about half the people I meet but then I don't look for it.... reminds me of a philosophy final I just wrote WHY? as the answer to an essay.

Anyway I'd say all things being equal (income, nuclear family etc...) the whites are definitly at an advantage since they hire who they know and have a disproporionate amount of capital relative to other groups.
