Yep, statistically child molesters have an insanely high recidivism rate. It's something like 75% of child molestors will be arrested again after getting caught once and supposedly "rehabilitated". Counting the ones who don't get caught a 2nd time, it's safe to say that the VAST majority of those who do it once go on to do it again. Sex offenders should be castrated as terms of parole. If they don't want to give up the jewels they should stay in jail for life.

Trouble with that is you don't need jewels to molest and kill children. Most of these monsters after being locked up for molesting once or twice start killing their victims to leave no living witnesses.

Solution: They should not be paroled...ever.

As for whether this is a "Sexual Preference", I think for most it is not the case, but it's more like the motivation that propels a Serial Rapist. Part sexual, part Powertrip, or other psychological reason.

Most Pedophiles start at a very young age and if caught and dealt with early on can be rehabilitated with much greater success. If not caught early on, they become too accustomed to it and are extremely difficult to rehabilitate.

When I was 18, I wanted to get with 16 year olds...which, made me a pedophile. Now, at 25, I wanna get with 23 year olds.

So I guess you can say I've been reformed...

An 18 year old banging a 16 year old is not a pedophile - You can't be a pedophile until you're either 40+ or your "partner" is under 15.

Negative. I'll agree on the 18/16 not being a Pedophile, but you don't need to be 40+ to be a Pedophile. A Pedophile can be as young as 12/13.

The big deal in that movie was when he realized that he wasn't doing the kids a favor, and that what he was doing actually hurt them.
Before that, he knew he wasn't allowed to do it, didn't want to go back to jail, but couldn't stop.
At the point of realization, he went and kicked the shyt out of the pedophile that was doing the boys at the playground, because he finally realized how he was hurting them. Before that, he just let it slide.
