Is is possible for Pedophiles to be rehabilitated

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine. He says they can, I say they can't.

What do you guys think? Is it possible to rehabbilitate them? or should we just kill them after the guilty plea/verdict?

did they recieve anything afterwards..like a new video card??

but No they cannot..thank god for the megan law or else it would be worse, but convicted child sex offenders get out everyday and are caught in the act of planning, or doing it again
 
I thought they had one of the highest rate of repeat crimes. So the basic answer is that, no most cannot be rehabilitated with current technology/laws.
 
To make them stop being attracted to kids? No, I don't think so.

To make them stop acting on those attractions? Possibly, I don't know.
 
I'd think they'd always still have desires for children. Thats like trying to make a regular guy suddenly stop desiring women. But you could probably rehabilitate them to not act on their desires. Like when a guy gets married - desire is there, but no action anymore.

Hmm, that makes sense. Do they go through this treatment in jail?
 
I don't think it is possible. It's just the way they are wired. I feel pity for them because they cannot control how they feel. But I also feel repulsion and anger towards them for doing what they do. I say put them all down. They are broken, and although it might not be their fault, it's the humane thing to do.
 
I say they can't.. Kill them all..

I will personally kill all of the Pedophiles, if I can get away with it..

I think that if you could, it would result in less children growing up to become them.
I have heard a good amount of them were victims themselves, although that may be wrong.

ever watch the shield? julien did it through some church organization because he's very involved in his religion and didn't want to act against god's will.

i'd imagine that there are other church groups dedicated to this cause (lesbian/gay relationships) nationwide.
 
The average pedophile has over 300 victims. Recidivism rates are at about 80%. Do you want to take a chance with YOUR child with someone that MIGHT be reformed?

IMHO, they are not fixable and should be forever kept from perpetrating against more children.
