God fvcking damn I hate Asian parents like that. Too much fvcking mental abuse for a guy. As soon as I got out from under their wing I got lazy as fvck in college because I actually tasted freedom for once. I went from valedictorian in high school with a near perfect SAT score to strugglng just to get 3.0's because I just don't want to work.
 
No parent has the right to deman, degrade and humiliate their child through physical violence. Hitting is child abuse, plain & simple.

and sometimes, the child needs to "hit back" using effective means, like calling welfare services 😉
 
my mom stopped beating the living sh!t out of me when i got into highschool... i probably became too big and strong for her.. :evil:
 
You have three choices:

1. Move out, pay for your own food and college.
2. Hit back
3. Take it.

It sounds more like humiliation than outright abuse. Send them the bill for your therapy.
PS: Stand up to them on the career count. That's the only one worth walking for. Unless you kinda like their plan.

I was going to recommend that he move out. But his age is a deciding factor on this.

Seldomly. Kids need to learn respect for there parents. Your first reaction to getting slapped by your mom should not be "I'm gonna call dyphus". She's family. Try to resolve the situation.
 
You have sinned by posting here! What goes on in an asian family, stays in the familiy. You have just kissed your inheritance goodbye. I can't believe you did that!

BTW: Italians do it that same way. Man, are you scewed! Go apologize, then commit yourself to school. You will never get past this until you meet , or exceed their expectations. While you are having the conversation, let them know that it is NOT ok to hit you, but, understand, that if you want a future, you will follow the rest of the rules.

BTW, I'm white. My wife is Asian. She raised our kids by asian rules. They are well behaved and successful. 😉
 
This crap never happened to me when I was growing up 🙂 (1st gen Chinese Canadian).

My parents were very supportive in whatever I did (I became an accountant but I could have been an artist....... and they would have been happy for me).

ps. compuwiz1........ pm pictures of your single daughters (that is if you have any) 😉 hte half asian/white is hte good looking 🙂
