It depends on what you do on your computer and when you will upgrade. I would get the e6600 because it should overclock fairly well. If you get it and don't like it I could always take it off your hands for you. Seriously though 125 is a steal and unless you need a quad right away will suit your needs just fine.

Normally, I would say 'buy it in a heartbeat' for that price. But it appears to me you already have a pretty respectable dual-core system. Maybe a quad-core would be the next logical upgrade for you?

And don't go for the future-proofing thingie. Make a list of things you do on your computer and look up benchmarks (and user opinions) on how a quad would benefit you (or not).
