my friend want to sell his 3month old e6600 to me for $125.00
is this good deal?
or should i just get q6600 future proof!!

It depends on what you do on your computer and when you will upgrade. I would get the e6600 because it should overclock fairly well. If you get it and don't like it I could always take it off your hands for you:D. Seriously though 125 is a steal and unless you need a quad right away will suit your needs just fine.

Yeah, don't hesitate on this deal... the E series are a bargain new, and that's a gift price. Get yourself a basic P35 chipset board and enjoy.

Normally, I would say 'buy it in a heartbeat' for that price. But it appears to me you already have a pretty respectable dual-core system. Maybe a quad-core would be the next logical upgrade for you?

And don't go for the future-proofing thingie. Make a list of things you do on your computer and look up benchmarks (and user opinions) on how a quad would benefit you (or not). :)
