Is Costco worth it?

Someone was singing the praises of Costco membership to me. I'm a single guy, I don't really have to buy things in bulk. Is it worth the $50 for a guy like me? Are the saving really that great?

Costco is the greatest store in the world. if you go in there on the weekends around lunch time you can get lunch for free because they offer so many samples.

depends on how much you spend

are you a spender? if so, then go to costco, costco is a good place to spend $

Buy 36 pack of snickers for $9 (.25 each bar.)

Sell for $.50 each. Make $9. Same with coke cans.

If you buy a LOT of stuff, then it would make sense. But unless you're really fat and hungry, I don't think its worth it.

If you want to pay half of my membership I will put you on my card. It's a business membership and you get in early.

i get back the membership fee in savings after three or four trips to costco. so it's way worth it if you shop for friends and family.

As a single person it would really depend on your shopping habits.

If you have a family of 4 then it would be probably worth it because you have more opportunity to spend money and save to overcome the yearly fee. Some people love the whole warehouse experience.

Best bet is to go halfers with someone because you can have two members per card (they may require a family connection though). I used to go in with my bro and while we were single it ended up being not worth it. Now that i'm married with 2 kids it's worth it.

I think Costco still allows a single use daily pass for you to check out. The sign up may be a PITA but it's a good way to get a feel of the joint. The other option is to just go with someone who has a card and do it that way.

$50? Damn. Sams is like $30 or something I think. But it all depends on what you buy and if you can get it cheap. I'd go ask them for a free trial beacuse you are thinking about joining. THen go through and write down prices of things you'd buy there frequently and go compare them to the grovery store.

My wife and I get Cat food, Laundry detergent, and bulk items there for a godo price. But it's cheaper to go to the grocery store for things like Soda and other supplies that they sell at both places.

I'm inclined to jump on a table and speak the gospel of CostCo.

However try a guest pass for one day, see what they have and for what prices.

My wife and I save a bundle at CostCo, even when I was a single guy I saved a crap load of $.

Our Sealy Mira Loma mattress cost $339, retails for $599. Food, clothes, automotive stuff, DVDs, CD's, books, electronics, computer stuff, bath and bedroom stuff, the list goes on.

Costco isn't that cheap; at least here it isn't. I'm pretty sure you can get better prices in certain supermarkets.

You're right, you have to know your comparison shopping.

Also how is it cheap if you buy 10 pounds of cheese but only eat 3 and the other 7 go bad?

I like to go to costco and buy other people's pictures from the photo finishing bins. Then, I put them on my fridge and pretend I'm loved by many.
