its alright. id much rather save money and get a more authentic burrito from a local taco shop. plus charging extra for the amount of guacomole you get is ridiculous.

not everyone lives in fvcking California and has a local taco shop. It annoys the hell out of me that you all assume we can just drive down the street to get some authentic food from the taqueria.

I live in freaking kentucky and if I'm gonna go for a burrito, I'm going to go get a chorizo burrito from the Ramirez Taqueria in the mexican neighborhood of lexington.

you want a cookie?

we have plenty of Mexican places here, but only a couple are anything special. And that is ignoring the fact that grabbing a burrito from Chipotle on the go is much more convenient than driving across town to eat one at a hole in the wall. In California and much of the rest of the Southwest, taquerias are more plentiful than McDonalds and Starbucks combined.

those are rare.

Ya, but Tex-Mex is better than traditional Mexican anyway. ;)

LOL @ your eat-out options. :p

Crispy, authentic sopes from scratch stacked with everything delicious otherwise piled into a big torta w/endless savory salsas and escabeche on the side for $1.99 from the joint 1-block away FTMFW!

No thanks on the cookie!

I never said the taqueria was more convenient, but most areas have them now, even rural areas.

taqueria > chipotle. Chipotle may be more convenient, depends on where you live, but yes it's more likely to be closer to you. In my case, the opposite is true. Back to discussing the food itself.

taqueria > chipotle

that is true, and i apologize. it is wrong to say something is superior when its only limited to a specific region. its makes comparing the two much tougher for people who do not have something similiar readily available to them. i will try and refrain from making statements like that again.

moving on... arent in-n-out burgers the best?!?! i cant wait until i get off work to enjoy a double-double animal style with well-done animal style fries and a shake!!! arent their burgers the greatest?!?!

I'm not fond of Qdoba/Chipolte. Its basically a flour tortilla stuffed with rice. I'd rather go to my local mexican restaurant.

They should call that the heart attack special. On that note, yes it is very good.

I also find In & Out Burger to be less than special. If you haven't eaten at Char Grill in Raleigh (not sure if they are anywhere else), then you haven't eaten quality take-out burgers :)

Also, Chicago is not po-dunk. And the chipotles in my neighborhood are vastly superior to the taquerias in the neighborhood--and at the same price, if not cheaper. It is not terribly convenient for me to grab a cab to Pilzen whenever I want quality Mexican food.

I like chipotle. If you think it'll be the mother of all foods you'll be disappointed, but if you just want something pretty tasty it fits the bill.

"Moe's Blows" Moes burrittos taste like they were crapped out of a a small deer's ass. I've been twice (I gave them the benefit of the doubt). Their chicken was more dry than Norm MacDonalds standup act. They charge extra for their crappy toppings, and their guacamole tastes like the brain of a rabid dog compared to Chipotle's. I used to eat Chipotle every week, then I went off to college, and now there is none. :(. Everytime I go home I get Chipotle. The first time I had Chipotle I had it flown in from Texas to Ga. (My friend was comming back to school from Texas, and picked it up in the airport, cause I wanted to try it) What it lacks in variety, it more than makes up in quality.

Baja Burrito is not the same as Baja Fresh. very different (Baja Fresh is a chain, for one...)
I grew up with Baja Burrito, but I do find it rather bland. The value is much better than any other california style burrito joint, though.

I don't think Qdoba has carnitas like Chipotle? been a while since I ate at Qdoba, not sure.
switching to carnitas though, is why I keep going back to chipotle. Also because it's 1 block away. But I have a greater addiction, and that is Chicken Hut.

What? It's not convenient for you to drive down to the Boulevard to get some Ponaks to go? ;)
