On the subject of Canadian beer, it's no good because it's all mostly lager, and lager is for pussies. Real men drink ale.

LoL. In america there's no such thing as lager/ale/pilsner, it's all just "beer" (read water).

<< They were Polish immigrants doughhead. Not Canadians. >>

Yeah, but they were already in Canada, not Poland. Why not stay in Canada: the land of hockey, beer, and beautiful women?

...wait... 2 out of 3 aint bad.

In the BWCAW, the border isn't watched at all. I stole Canada's firewood.

<< Only good thing about Canada is Windsor Casino. But I'll be 21 in a few months so after that Cananda has outlived its usefulness;) >>

You should have lived in Minnesota for the last three years, because we can go to casinos at 18!

*Lives in Windsor, Ontario*

Please don't trash my City. Heh.

Interesting, today in Economics we were talking about how most of the downtown bars are populated by American teens taking advantage of the younger drinking age. And it's true. (Not that I have personal experience, I don't drink!)

Sorry, can you repeat that? I thought you just said Canadian beer is for pussies....
That doesn't make any sense - I can drink 12 beer up here, but only 8 down in the US. Am I doing something wrong?

;)

BTW, I don't know where you get your facts about Canadian beer mostly being Lager - the local breweries near me have every type of beer imaginable. I prefer ales myself.

actually most of the "American" beers are bastardized versions of lager (or more specifically pilsner) If you have some real pilsners like Pilsner Urquel or some good German lagers, you'd see that it's not the type of beer that sucks, but the mass produced crap they try to pass off as beer in the states.

Its worse!!! Nothing but ice and snow year round... sometimes it gets so cold I can't chip away enough ice from my igloo to see if my sled dogs have frozen to death... its sad really.

But I'm working to change that - I imported one of these new fangled 286 computers and something called a "mo-dem" from the U.S. on my last huntin' trip and I'm here on AT!

I'm also working with the US gov't to try to arrange for the first ever commercial airliner flight to Canada... by jove we'll civilize this place yet!

...if we don't freeze to death playing hockey first.

Did you mention Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey and Pam Anderson (not that good an example)?

Those people aren't even canadians.
And people have you ever been to BC? There are no french signs, but the speed limits are in km/h but kilometers are a better system of measurement imo. Canada also has better beer than the states, oh and bc grows a special product that is the best in the world.

On being Canadian......

The one thing that defines a Canadian more than anything else.

If he gets fed up he can get in his car drive to the end of the road, then get on a train and go to the end of the line, then get on a boat and dock at the last port, then get in a plane and fly into the last lake on the chart, then start walking until he could walk no more. There would be absolutely nothing but black flies and God's country for 500 miles in any direction....somehow the government would still get its cut.

The only corner a Canadian will every get backed into is the one he built for himself.

lol @ Atlantean! :D
I think I've already mentioned most of your post. Glad you're with me on BC's "special product", though.

Here's an interesting article:
U.S. Border agents battle B.C. pot problem
--------------------------------------------------------------------
U.S. border patrol officials see Vancouver as pot tolerant with an abundance of pot-friendly businesses and a reputation for being the "Amsterdam of North America."

British Columbia is home to a $4 billion industry that grows pot four times more potent than the stuff from Mexico.

But while Vancouver still looks the other way where discreet, individual pot-smoking is concerned, it clearly has had enough of the "Amsterdam" label, and has been shutting down businesses and coffee shops that deal overtly in cannabis.
