Well to be serious, there's a negligible difference between life in Canada and life in the U.S. They probably wanted to get across to meet relatives in America but were rejected from immigrating straight to the U.S., and pulled the alternate route trick. Or maybe they just dearly love antiquated imperial measurements.

Nope, not all signs are translated into French. In Quebec they are. Everywhere else it's up to the municipality / province.

Canada appears to be ok, kind of like an arctic Nebraska. No one knows for sure, since it's visited only by illiterate sport fishermen and the Queen.

Now that's a load of horse sh!t.
In some places in Canada I can buy a flat (24 cans) of cheap canadian beer which is 5.5% alcohol (ooohh..scary!) for about $20 cdn = $13 US.

Or, I can drive down to Seattle (30 min. drive) and buy a flat of Coors Lite which is 3% alcohol for about about $30 cdn.

Damn.
