Here's my suggestion, or theory, about BTX: it was going to get harder to cool a Prescott running at 4 GHz-plus than any air-cooled case designs could handle. While one Intel department was trying to keep the temps from rising too much, another created the BTX to control the temps in spite of Prescott overheating. Actually BTX is sort-of like "New Coke".....maybe the Ford Edsel. Both came on strong with much hope for success, promising improvement.....both faded after a short time. BTX, What BTX? 😛
