It started with the Beatles, Pink Flloyd, the Stones and just kept on going....the who...talking heads, the cars, the police... and more. It's too much music for a lifetime....

But absolutely, yeah. And there have also been some awesome British bands after the classic ones you listed - Blur, Radiohead, Fine Young Cannibals, Prodigy, Oasis, etc.
