Is anyone else in awe of British Rock?

It started with the Beatles, Pink Flloyd, the Stones and just kept on going....the who...talking heads, the cars, the police... and more. It's too much music for a lifetime....

Yeah, the British were in love with black blues during the 50's and 60's, which led to reworkings of a lot of their foundations.

It's interesting how the american blues and jazz influenced them so much and in turn their british rock invasion influenced us so much. Rock, Punk in the late 70's into metal. Oasis type rock in the 90s.

They were American, actually.

But absolutely, yeah. And there have also been some awesome British bands after the classic ones you listed - Blur, Radiohead, Fine Young Cannibals, Prodigy, Oasis, etc.

Don't forget River City People

Try some vintage Richard Thompson (Daring Adventures, Hokey Pokey) and Fairport Convention (Liege & Lief), they're trad-riffic.

It was good until britpop got carried away.....

Then a certain Mr. Albarn yelled "Woohoo" and finally put the final nail in the coffin and the brits start to rock again.

no one mentioned Led Zeppelin, the king of British rock bands.

The YardBirds, The Troggs, The Animals and The Kinks.
