As far as the government telling us about it, that would be like a pilot getting on the intercom to tell you that the airplane is about to crash and we are all going to die. What's the point if you can't change a thing. Enjoy your life as it comes, because you could get killed in a car accident tomorrow and Planet X wouldn't be able to greet you anyway.

A little OT - The movie When Worlds Collide would be an excellent movie to remake. With todays SFX it has the potential to be a great flick. No more of these comet/asteroid flics where it smashes into the Earth, instead a large planet-sized object just passes closeby enough to cause virtually total destruction. Because of the size of the invading object, defense (bombs, lasers, etc) aren't an option...only preparation is possible. Because no amount of effective defense is possible, near-complete destruction of Earth would be inevitable...making for some really farout SFX. Remember that comet/asteroid movie with Morgan Freeman as president? I remember seeing the previews for it with the destruction of major cities thinking "They wouldn't do that, must be like a dream sequence." I was a little surprised that it was actually part of the events. With WWC, I think the plot would have to be more on the line of preserving mankind and how that's possible instead of averting disaster...pretty much holding to the plot of the original.

Just no Arnold or Bruce, please.
