Shit happens when you are driving. Traveling is still one of the most dangerous things most people do on a regular basis. No you don't want to have to change a flat in a toll plaza or google for the nearest towing place at 1am in the city, etc. etc.

I dunno, I'm not gonna look down on myself for using a service which I pay for. So no loss of self respect found.

My insurance has towing and roadside assistance for $8 a year. I used it once because I locked my keys in my trunk. They just call a tow truck company near my location and they pay them directly.

BMW has roadside assistance too included but I've never used it.
