Well, thats a main factor in my not digging 3D.
Eye focus & eye convergence are not at the same point in space with 3D. Eventually, you have to face a million years of evolution. More or less, this is the principal reason people aren't comfortable with 3D. It just doesn't "feel right."
My kids like 3D movies, so the only things I have seen in 3D are some of the recent animated kids movies.
It is pretty cool, but I would not pay extra at the theatre or at home to have it (except, maybe for the NFL in 3D - Now that could rock).

I dont see much adverts for new theater movies and home equipment with 3D. is it officially dead? If so i am glad. I never thought it was implemented properly, especially at home. I have seen very few movies in 3D and thought it was better in 2D. Im curious as we get closer to 4K and much bigger screens if 3D will make a comeback then.
The reason is simply that even with a BIG screen there is something essential missing: FOV (Field of View)
Realistic FOV and complete immersion will only be possible with devices like Oculus Rift and whatever else the future will bring. (Exception: Imax with a huge screen...but I am talking about 3D at home where such a FOV can normally not be obtained).
The same could be said about iOS7
Just kidding 😉

meh at home i sit about 13' away from a 120" screen. it is extremely immersive.
4k is the new trend.
That i'll pay for. I will never spendon 3D TVs. It doesn't make bad movies magically good.
3D needs to be seen in IMAX for it to really be effective. Otherwise it feels like you're just looking through a distant window. I saw Star Trek Into Darkness in IMAX 3D and even knowing it wasn't filmed natively it still looked very impressive.
