Yes I know it's no longer being made. Whenever it's on I find it strangely addicting.

What about Iron chef America?

Sometimes when 11 PM rolls around I miss Iron Chef Japan very strongly.
Ah, sophomore year of college...the only year I had Food Network while ICJ was still on...
At least it's available on Youtube

The original one is so much better! Half the fun (IMO) was listening to the horrible dubbing!

I like the American show when they do the celebrity editions... They brin gin hosts of other shows and pit them against each other and things like that.

I did enjoy "THe Next Iron Chef" show where they got the new guy from the competition. That was interesting.

I love Iron Chef. I like America because I can sorta relate to it better. I do hate the fact that they have such unimagnative ingredients.

On the original IC, they would have some weird stuff and some normal items. The normal items, like tomato, are the more challenging. But America is kinda plain. I mean Cowboy Ribeye? Its a thick cut ribeye. I could come up with 5 dishes for that. When they did the huge fish it was pretty cool.

Iron Chef America is a great show. The original was great as well. This must not make me as cool as the rest of you who LOVE the original but think the American version is lame.

The American version just doesn't have the charm, I don't know, I can't point a finger on it but it lost something.

Yea, and the talent that those fuckers have... :Q

I saw an interview with Cat and she broke the show down. I thought for sure that they got an hour or so to prepare a menu *after* finding out the secret ingredient. But they dont. They prepare the sous chefs in advance with dishes (if meat, then X, else if fish then Y, etc), then improvise as the clock ticks *after* learning the secret ingredient. To me that is amazing...
