Tens of thousands of people are expected to take part in a huge demonstration to protest against escalating violence in the country.

?The aim is to show to the world that the Iraqi people denounce these terror acts which have shake security and stability in our country,? Ibrahim Aboudi, a member of the movement said.
He said it is wrong to say that these actions are legitimate because they allegedly target the US-led occupation forces.
...
?In these operations children, the elderly, women and many other innocent people are being killed,? he said.
...
In November the US military lost 79 soldiers mostly in enemy attacks ? its worst month death toll since President George W. Bush declared the end of major combat.
However, statistics show that many more innocent Iraqis have died in these attacks which have forced the United Nations and other aid organizations to pull out.
Aboudi?s movement has been founded to lobby Iraqis against such attacks and their perpetrators ?so that we will exterminate this phenomenon which is so unusual for a society like ours.?

on the way home tonite i heard a news report about how another American soldier was killed along with 3 Iraqis when this thought occured to me.

Youd think that the Iraqis would be pissed off at these insurgent bastards for killing innocent civilians and then try to stop this crap from happening and try to help out the US a little in creating a stable country for themselves.

I guess theyre still pretty scared of helping the US and fear retribution from Saddam/Baath Party/Insurgents/regime leftovers.

Good for them. Ultimately the future of Iraq is going to be determined by the ordinary citizens, they are the ones who can stop the terrorists, not the US.

Now if they could just act more like a United States City lkie Detroit, Cinncinnati, Los Angeles, where ever,
and fire this up into a riot like we do here at home, they would be more acceptable, wouldn't they ?
They have all those Clerics to light up their spiritual fire don't they ?
Kinda like what was going down in the late 60's & early '70's.
