They were a lot closer to it prior to the current agreement having a large stockpile of 20% LEU at their hardened Fordow facility.

They built their nuclear capability as a bargaining chip, pushed the limits of the NPT to achieve that. The West could either entertain the idea of another nuclear weapons state, wage war or make trade & diplomatic concessions. The last of those was obviously the best choice. And so it is today.

Diplomatic concessions is the right choice, thinking they would stop is where concessions went wrong. We should have sent Levis and DVD players so that by the time they reach bomb time, the country is so moderate that Israel's perpetual fears are completely unfounded.

First off, the tribal regions of Pakistan have never been under control of the govt in Karachi or of anybody other than the primitives who live there, ever. That's true of regions in Afghanistan as well.

What is it you think that Iran won't stop that they haven't already stopped?

Maybe squashing their democracy, deposing their elected leader and replacing him with a dictatorship wasn't such a good idea in hindsight.
