Did the British complain about Braveheart and The Patriot? Did the Germans complain about Saving Private Ryan?

Actually, they did:

Ok, so apparantly the British are whiny little sissies too.

Did the Canadians complain about South Park? That's a better one!

how about "did america complain about the anti-american turkish film, 'valley of the wolves iraq'?"

answer: yes.

Well most americans have no f'ing idea that persia is modern day Iran.

I only know because most Iranians will tell you they're Persian and the first time someone does you're gonna go...uh, wtf....yeah, hi, I'm a highlander.

? a highlander? i don't get it...

Some people choose to identify their nationality of origin by it's romanticized or historical name to sound more sophisticated. Irish people become Celtic......Germany becomes Saxony....etc. It's pretty damn pompous.

"Persian" is an ethnicity. Are you shocked when a Saudi Arabian says "I'm an Arab"?

Iran is the heartland for Persians. 99.999% x1,000 Persians trace their roots back to Iran.

Whereas an Arab can be from anywhere.

Great, so we're already all nuts in this country about not offending anything that has so much as a single neuron. Now we're going to have to be careful about not offending anything sentient in other countries too.

"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

"Why aren't you talking to me? You're thinking bad things about me, aren't you? That offends me."

"Cry me a river."

the outrage doesn't seem to be to the same extent. I'm not even sure how many Americans have actually heard of that film.

It does have a certain jingoistic feel to it, but that doesn't mean it's allegorical to modern Iran.

I don't care if it was jingoistic or allegorical, it was a good movie and it you're offended then don't watch it. jeesus, it's that easy.
