Hell it's alway a matter of time any catastrophe occurs anywhere. That ridiculous looking model of a drone isn't a precursor of one though.

anyone can build a shitty drone and autopilot controls have been around for years. reliable long range secure communications is the real problem.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/08/22/ahmadinejad-inaugurates-irans-unmanned-bomber/

"The 4-meter-long drone aircraft can carry up to four cruise missiles and will have a range of 620 miles (1,000 kilometers), according to a state TV report — not far enough to reach archenemy Israel."

Every day its something new in that area. Only a matter of time before a major catastrophe.

Not enough to reach Israel, but if the drone flies out to its maximum range and then shoots the missiles, how much further will the missiles reach?

Also... we're relying on Iran for its own specifications. It would be to their advantage to underestimate for the public, to give misinformation. This thing might not even fly, or it might be better than they claim.

Supposedly they were flying prototypes over Iraq that our planes shot down. I doubt these are stealth like the Iranians claim.

I also doubt that they would understate the tech. TBH, it looks like something you need RC controls for :p

The 'Four-Meter Drone' can carry 4 cruise missiles - yeah if the are rocks or spears.

This is an alarmist bullshit issue.

Our Tomahawk BGM-109, which really is a Cruise Missile is over 5 meters long and weighs in between 2,600 to 3,200 lbs.

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/bgm-109.htm

This is a lame toy - it's only use is to boost the Iranian Political Ego,
and allow FAUX News to panic this generation of cowards that they address.

You want a 'REAL' weapon?

Their technology is only sufficient that they are a threat to themselves.
They will eventually celebrate their entry into the Nuclear Age by detonating a thermonuclear device
in one of their own public gathering places so everyone can see how advanced they are.

Poof - oops, forgot about that little explosion problem.

This is made by Iran's own aerospace company, Dille-Deough.

It probably won't be bad for a first attempt.

Too bad they won't get a second attempt. :hmm:

Indeed, it is Ahmadinejad's dream to have a fleet of deadly Dille-Deoughs that can penetrate Israeli airspace and bomb the motherland.

That looks a LOT like a V1 rocket, it really does.

That aside, I'd venture a guess that it's a terror weapon only able to drop an unguided bomb in a general area, like of say.... a city. Sort of like WWII city bombing, and we know how amazingly effect that was...

in the end, it looks like it'll make great target practice and nothing more (most notably for Israel with their Iron Dome).

Get your little girl panties in a wad, Nicky?

You started this thread with a FOX post - then you do the bait-and-switch to MSNBC.

It's still a sham to those with some knowledge.

Is it a 'Guided Missle' because instead of throwing a spear . . . that the guy hangs on to it?

No, I'm just pointing out how stupid you look. It was a Fox link, so you blasted the story with the usual "faux" outrage shit, yet the liberal news stations reported the exact same thing. It makes you look like a partisan fuckhead.

CaptnKirk is absolutely right. It looks like they strapped a few bombs to a rocket and called it an unmanned bombing drone with stealth capabilities. No one who has ever seen a working plane should be fooled by this. The only way it wouldn't get picked up by radar is because it would be in a pile of its own rubble on the ground immediately after launch.

Well looks like the fear factory is working weekends now. Imagine that. Still waiting for some of the fanbois here to enlist in the last war they championed but hid from... you still have time to get over to Iraq before it's too late before you need to start worrying about the next one.
