I currently have AMD video cards in my PC's. Perhaps if nividia would show off some features of their cards (with a little marketing thrown in) my next cards might be nvidia.

You know, something along the lines of: "check out this cool new feature, now enhanced and optimized for our new Kepler architecture!" Show me the feature then try to sell me on how it will work better on their own hardware.

Youtube it.

/facepalm

We've had this discussion many times. There are some people that seem to get personal satisfaction out of features being vendor specific. Just vote with your wallet if you are against it.

Of course, until this is actually implemented in a game it's all academic anyway and not worth getting too concerned about.

If you already have an AMD card, you wouldn't buy an Nvidia card for one feature would you?

Besides, I'm not sure this particular demo uses anything proprietary(unless someone can show otherwise). It's just distributed for their customers.

Not in the same generation, no. But for the next generation of cards I don't have my mind made up.

It's just a demo, why are people making a big deal out of brands?

It's the cool thing these days.

Well, you'd need to wait until they are announced, released, and reviewed with drivers. Specs and proprietary tech won't mean anything if the drivers have issues with Battlefield 4 or any other big title and don't work right. It's likely AMD will have their crossfire stuff sorted too so that would change a few things potentially.

Part of my satisfaction in owning a PC is running software that is hardware agnostic. If I wanted hardware specific software, I'd run a Mac... or an Nvidia, I guess.

It is not like Nvidia can't run all the non hardware specific software. It just has some added proprietary software as well. Though it would be nice if it was all non proprietary.

If AT isn't to your liking, you could always go to the Nvidia only haven :whiste:

Thanks for the free plug, but....

I think you crapping AMD fans should probably get out of this thread. It really has nothing to do with anything AMD. Don't you agree?

"Nyah, because I can't run it on my AMD card, Nvidia should be strung up by their privates and set on fire for this outrage!!!"

Please just leave.

What an angry post lol.

Anyway weird, I don't recall posting anything like that. We "crapping AMD fans" will stay out of "Nvidia only threads" if you can keep the usual Nvidia lobotomy recipients out of "AMD only threads"... Deal?

Just control yourself and that would be enough.

That's asking too much keys. Self control requires maturity.

I just wonder where are all these vigilantes when things are the other way around.

Maturity in a forum vandalized by nerdy gangs, such a feat.

Keep it on topic please, this is about how the demo performs on cards people are using.

If you guys want to get into another Red vs Green pissing match start your own thread.

Personal satisfaction?, rancid bait mate....I think its more like Ford owners trying to fit holden wheel covers to their cars....

Wow, didn't mean to set off a flame war. I was just hoping I could try out something nifty and new on my PC.

If I wanted smug moral superiority, I would've gone and the Huffington Post.

Downloaded it, Geez it looks amazing at 1440p. It fully cranks up my cards, the fans go more hard out than anything I've put them through before.

Really sorry you have to experience this visiting this forum. Was never this bad before. Not your fault, you didn't set off anything.

I actually think you made a good point, and I'll reiterate that as long as I can remember, the PCs claim to fame, and the reason we used to put up with its clunkiness and difficulty to configure (back then, anyway), was that it was at heart a universal machine, not designed for exclusiveness but for inclusiveness.

This isn't a complaint aimed at a specific brand, just an observation. Another observation is that brand loyalty is mostly a set of artificial distinctions ginned up by companies to serve their own interests, it does nothing to serve the end users who engage in it.
