iPod or iRiver?

Sluggo

Lifer
I'm going to get the wife either an iPod or an iRiver 20gig player for her birthday this week. Yeah, something we can both use 😀....heh...She really wants one I think, she currently has a 64MB player, and is always complaining about lack of storage.

So far I'm leaning towards the iRiver, can anyone convince me different?

Ipod Mini? Or do you need more than 4 gig?

Guruk in 4....3.....2.....

I thought about that, and figured for just a few bucks more, why not get the larger storage and put the whole CD collection on it, with room to spare.

I'd go with the iRiver. The iPod is mostly a fad item that previously had no competition. It has finally met it's match.

Depends on use. I looked at the "full size" MP3 players. My primary function would be for exercising and plane jumping. After comparing the full size players the Mini was considerably more convenient for those functions. I didn't need the extra space so the mini just made sense.

Can you actually find the Mini in stock anywhere these days? I knew it was really limited availability a few months back.

Especially at Best Buy since I plan to buy myself the 6800OC/FarCry/Doom3 bundle this week. (Look honey, you get a cool new vid card for your B-Day 😀)

Best buy doesn't really stock them any more. Compusa & Circuit City always have them in stock when I stop by.

how about the creative 40gig on sale for $180 or so. an excellent value. too bad i'll never have the balls to fork over $180 for an mp3 player

I got mine for $170 with CC warranty since the warranty it has sucks. I really like it though, much better than my old ipod.

I would be leaning iRiver for the better sound capabilities, but you gotta love that dam koo ass helll circle thing ont he iPod. That's about the only reason I like it.
