how about the creative 40gig on sale for $180 or so. an excellent value. too bad i'll never have the balls to fork over $180 for an mp3 player

I got mine for $170 with CC warranty since the warranty it has sucks. I really like it though, much better than my old ipod.

yeah i forgot the exact price. they hav eit on sale at newegg with a $10 rebate too.

The Creative seems really big and heavy compared to the iRiver and iPod. It is a great value though, it is up for consideration.

rio karma?

but that's just me. I don't really understand how the Ipods can be so popular and not be able to play .ogg or gapless...until apple gets that in there, ipods are an overpriced fashion accessory.

the Iriver is pretty cool too. Iriver for sure if you need a remote or a 40g model

i just was making this desicion for a gift for my sister, i ended up going with the irivier because it had better reviews, better battery life, comes with an fm tuner, has upgradeable firmaware, comes with a remote and carrying case plus all the adapters you will need and plays way more formats then the ipod does, it is clearly a better unit.

and yes i played with both before i bought and no i dont think the ipods inteface is that great in fact i think its a bit clunky.
