IMO its pitiful to see people that bitch and moan about consumer products. Maybe those "artsy" people just want a small mp3 player with a decent amount of storage. There isn't anything else on the market that comes close to it. So STFU

there are a lot of morons that happen to read good news sources (anandtech.com) ... my family has 6 ipods...not because its a fashion statment (of which we well know it is) or because we're spoiled (no, actually, we arent)...its because we need the portablility...when we get up for our 10 mile run every morning, and theres a large-capacity, small player out....and its a damn good player...and because im an apple fanboy...ill sure as hell use it...

...one thing that also bucks for an ipod is that if you have over 20gigs of music on your iTunes library...and is constantly listening to podcasts...so dont bitch and whine about fashon statements and how its only a symbol...its a damn good player...and a gadget that just makes you want to brag...so go out and get one, and experience the ipod yourself

i dont know where he gets the artsy, creepy stuff from... it's like the oppisite for me. When i see an iPod user immediately I think "sheep". But we all have done that to a certain extent.

A similar thought process might go through your head when you see a pack of ricers, or maybe a bunch of jocks. Pre judging will come back to bite ya. Once you get to know that kid driving the ricer, you may find out he knows a ton about cars, and his car is pretty stinkin quick/he has his car like that to stand out, be different. Or that the pack of jocks is in fact actually a bunch of individuals that enjoy many different things and have different hobbies but happen to be hanging out that evening.

sure it's unwarrented, and sure the iPod is a nice piece of equipment, and sure every iPod user out there is actually in fact an individual with individual reasons for owning an iPod... but we should all go and get iPods because they are so great
